Jen Carnovale

with Jen Carnovale is an Australian comedian from Sydney who has travelled from quaint bookstores in Canberra to Latvian kind-of scary warehouses to perform stand up. She has toured across the UK, Australia, all the good looking parts of Europe and tasty parts of Asia.

Jen began her stand up career in a comedy duo; The Cloud Girls, who won the ‘Best Newcomer’ award at Sydney Comedy Festival in 2010 and were selected as one of the‘Top Ten Next Big Things in Comedy’ in 2011 by Sydney Morning Herald/ The Age. The Cloud Girls went on to perform at numerous festivals including Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Sydney Fringe Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, TINA, Playground Weekender and Peats Ridge. They were radio presenters for ABC Triple J and received a four star review by Time Out Sydney before both performers decided it was time to go solo.

Jen relocated to London at the end of 2011, and by 2012 was a Semi-Finalist for both Funny Women Comedy Awards and Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Awards. Performing for two years across the UK, rain, hail or minus five, prepared Jen for 2013 which saw her perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hong Kong International Comedy festival, and headline a comedy tour across the Baltics before returning to Sydney.

Since being home Jen has performed sold out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival and Sydney Fringe Festival as well as headlining great comedy rooms round Australia mate!

Jen has been described as ‘Brilliant’ by Comedy Estonia, ‘Outstanding razor-sharp slices of observational comedy” by Funny Women, and the New York Comedy Night in Paris said “She lights up the stage with her bubbling wit and sharp derision. The audience is left with no choice but to be charmed”

You can hear Jen most weekends as a regular host on 2ser Radios The Vultures Nest or see her in her newest show ‘Jen Carnovale Wronger Than You’ at this years Newcastle Fringe, Sydney Comedy festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and see if all those guys and gals in the previous paragraph were telling the truth.
