Jonas Holt, Jonas began his standup comedy career in 1995 in Perth, Western Australia. After winning an impersonation contest 13 times, and other comedy competitions, they disallowed him to compete and he moved to Sydney where he has become a professional comedian, party superhero and talker. Daniel Townes is one of the country’s hottest prospects he has taken his gags global, he is one of Australia’s youngest international comedians, being a regular at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney’s Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the prestigious invite only Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Seen on Good News Week, The Comedy Channel, The NRL Footy Show and Stand Up! (ABCTV)
With his laidback style of stand-up, Townes has won over audiences worldwide, having performed in Singapore, Germany, Spain, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Holland, and all over the UK. In Australia, he’s worked everywhere from Mildura to Broken Hill and Griffith to Wodonga.
Shortlisted for both the People’s Choice Award and title of Sydney’s Best Comedian in Time Out Magazine’s Awards during the Sydney Comedy Festival.
He’s toured with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow since 2007, and hosted the Hong Kong and Singapore tours in 2013. Daniel’s also no stranger to performing on the outdoor comedy stages of Homebake in Sydney, Splendour In The Grass in Byron Bay, Falls Festival, Southbound Festival; the V Festival, Leeds Festival, and Reading Festival in England, where he recently hosted the comedy stage. Away from comedy clubs and festivals Daniel hosts The Daniel Townes Podcast, a weekly conversation with comedians from around the world. His first DVD was released in 2012.
